Garner Swann is an artist who has lived in his apartment for 10 years. Kristen Dambrowski, a graduate student and his new fiancee, just moved in. Garner currently uses the living room as an art studio and his art hangs everywhere wall is space available, leaving no room for anything of Kristen's. They would like to create a nice living room that represents both of them, as well as a desk area for her to study.
The Fresh Coat team uses a rich, earthy color palette of oranges and browns to create a warm and inviting feel that will soften the edges of the square white room and accentuate the vintage furniture. To make room for Kristen, most of Garner's art and supplies will be moved out and the current cluttered closet is transformed into a new entertainment hutch by removing the doors and painting the inside. A vintage desk is brought in and given a tortoiseshell faux finish. Finally, the look of the coffee table and lamps are modernized by painting them in an updated style.
