Guest Allison Connors gives a quick, simple lesson on using markers to create customized background paper with fun, festive appeal! Materials:
Tan cardstock Brush marker in Green Writer in Red Fine-tip Marker in Black
- Hold the green brush marker slightly to the side, and then push down to make five leaves in a cluster (figure A).
- With the red marker, place three dots at the tip of the leaf cluster.
- Using a fine point black marker, outline each leaf (figure B). The effect doesn't have to be perfect -- some background color can show between the leaf and outline. This will give the design a more freeform, artistic effect.
- Repeat this process throughout the page, turning the page to create clusters in different directions to finish the page.
