Add an element of surprise to invitations and scrapbook pages with this "boo-tiful" and festive Halloween Pop-up Card! Designer Stephanie Rahmatulla demonstrates how easy it is to accomplish.

    Materials:

    3-4 different shades of cardstock
    Multi pop-up die
    Halloween-themed character stickers
    Border stickers
    Adhesive or glue
Scissors, craft knife or paper trimmer
    Letter stickers
    Pop dots

    1. Begin by trimming darkest shade of envelope (if mailing as invitation) or desired size (that will complement scrapbook page layout).

    2. Next, trim second color of cardstock smaller than first so that a border is exposed around the second color. Layer over the first color.

    3. Then, trim the third color of cardstock smaller than the second to create an exposed border. Use pop-up die to cut pop-up strips into the cardstock (figure A)

    4. Apply border stickers to all edges of inner pop-up card (figure B).

    5. Fold three pieces of cardstock (figure C).

    6. Next, apply stickers to a piece of cardstock and trim around each motif (this prevents the stickers from adhering to surrounding cardstock as the card is opened and closed).

    7. Test placement of character stickers to pop-ups before adhering. Tip: If, upon closing the card, you find that characters heads extend beyond the card's edge (figure D), you can create a larger base layer as camouflage.

    8. Apply a small amount of adhesive to bottom back surface of pop-up character ( figure E) and adhere one character to each pop-up strip.

    9. Adhere three folded panels together.

    10. Trim a small panel for the front of the card.

    11. Layer the panel on a slightly larger piece of cardstock in a contrasting shade (figure F).

    12. Use decorative sticker borders along edge of top layer of front panel.

    13. Then, use pop-dots to adhere character stickers (figure G) to the front panel (in this example, ghost stickers were used).

    14. Apply letter stickers for the greeting.
