Don't be afraid to tear it up! You can create a pocket with texture and dimension by layering hand-torn paper.

Unpacking from a vacation usually means finding a plethora of ticket stubs, brochures and post cards collected on the trip. Finding a way to incorporate them into album pages can be a daunting task. Never fear! Stephanie Rahmatulla has the solution: a memorabilia pocket page!

    1. Select a piece of colored cardstock for your pocket and in one motion, tear it in half.

    2. Turn the paper over and place adhesive on the bottom and both sides. (Remember, the rough side of the tear will be face-up on the page.)

    3. Adhere the torn cardstock to your page. If desired, use the same tearing technique to create a layered border for the side of the page (figure A).

    4. Add memorabilia to pocket.

Tip: Make a reduced color copy (on acid-free and lignin-free paper) of bulky items such as newspaper or programs to include in your scrapbook. This will allow special mementos to be included without the bulk.
