Now that the jacket's finished, follow these simple steps to create a pair of matching sweatpants. Sew two buttonholes on front center of the pants for the waistband drawstring; then sew the pants side waist to dot (figure A). Sew around the pockets onto pants legs, then from the top dot around, angling the stitch to the bottom dot. Pivot stitch and sew down the pants outside leg. Stitch the inseam and serge all the edges. Sew the waistband, making sure to catch the pocket top in the stitches (figure B). Thread elastic through waistband and thread cord through buttonholes on hood and waistband (figure C).
