Make a soft, comfy velour sweatsuit for those cold winter days. Warning: Better make two -- you may never want to take it off!

    Materials:
    4-1/2 yards velour
    22" separating zipper
    3 yards 1/4" cord
    1-1/8 yards 3/4" elastic
    Sweatsuit pattern
Sewing notions: thread, scissors, iron, serger, zipper foot, nonstick foot, buttonhole ripper

    Steps:

    1. Stay-stitch the curve of the pockets (figure A).

    2. Sew the pocket curve.

    3. Press the pockets with a mitered corner (figure B).

    4. Topstitch pockets onto jacket.

    5. Change the presser foot from the nonstick to the zipper foot.

    6. Baste and sew the right side of the zipper to right side of fabric (figure C); then fold over and topstitch the zipper in place (figure D).
