Make a soft, comfy velour sweatsuit for those cold winter days. Warning: Better make two -- you may never want to take it off! Materials:
4-1/2 yards velour
22" separating zipper
3 yards 1/4" cord
1-1/8 yards 3/4" elastic
Sweatsuit pattern
Sewing notions: thread, scissors, iron, serger, zipper foot, nonstick foot, buttonhole ripper Steps: - Stay-stitch the curve of the pockets (figure A).
- Sew the pocket curve.
- Press the pockets with a mitered corner (figure B).
- Topstitch pockets onto jacket.
- Change the presser foot from the nonstick to the zipper foot.
- Baste and sew the right side of the zipper to right side of fabric (figure C); then fold over and topstitch the zipper in place (figure D).
