After you've finished the Panel Top, try this vest, made of two layers of fabric tubes connected with bar-tacks and a kimono-type lapel. You won't believe how beautiful a few strips of fabric can be!

    Steps for Reversible Panel Vest:

    1. Sew all panels F and J to lining (or reverse-side fabric) on three sides (leaving hem side open for later), with right sides together and using a 1/4" seam allowance.

    2. Clip corners and turn each tube right side out. Press.

    3. Mark dot connection points using dot gauge (included in pattern #918) and chalk (leave off connection marking for side panels F until later).

    4. Abut outside panel F to inside panel F, and begin sewing bar-tack connection stitches, starting at the second marked spot from the shoulder (figure A).

    5. Repeat for the other front side and right and left side of back.
