Tip: When joining yarn, use a needle and thread to fasten the ends securely so they won't come out.

    Brim

With size G hook and 2 strands of A, with the right side facing, count 32 sts from the right end on a long side of the headband and join yarn in the 33rd st.

Row 1: Ch 1 (count as first st row and throughout), 1 sc in next st, *(2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 2 sts), repeat from * until 22 sts total.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, (using back loops for this row) 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in ea st to end, 1hdc in last row of hat, 1 st in next 2 sts.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, *(1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st), repeat from * to end, 1 hdc in last row of hat, 1 sl st in next 2 sts.

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in ea st to end, 1 hdc in last row of hat, 1 sl st in next 2 sts. Fasten off. Join B.

Row 5: Repeat steps from Row 4.

    Snaps

    1. To add the snaps, first wrap the headband around your forehead to determine where to place them.

Tip: This usually falls within Rows 2-6. Use a sport-weight yarn or thread of a similar color to sew them on. You can also add 2 more sets of snaps to make the visor adjustable.

    2. With the brim facing away, attach the snap on the underside (the wrong side) of the left flap.

    3. Place the ball portion of the snap at the corners, right underneath color B.

    4. Secure the snaps with thread and a sewing needle. This next step will determine the fit of the visor.

    5. Center the socket portion of the snap with the corresponding ball portion. Place the socket in whatever row needed to obtain the desired fit. Secure the snap with needle and thread.
