    episode DUCT-153

Crochet Me shows how to construct a perfectly fitting crocheted outfit for any body type. Julie Holtez and Josi Hannon Madera start off with measurements to determine what size pattern you should make, as there are multiple options for both the fit of the top and the length of the skirt. Julie also demonstrates a stitch that will be used to create both the top and skirt.

    Measuring

    Materials:

    measuring tape
    pattern

Have a friend take your bust, waist and bottom measurements to figure out what size you need to crochet; it will also help you figure out whether you need to make length or bust adjustments to the outfit.

    Finished Measurements for Tank Top

    (Sizes are US women's sizes.)

    Bust (at fullest point):
    XS (2/4) = 32"/34"
    S (6/8) = 34"/36"
    M (10/12) = 37"/39"
    L (14/16) = 39"/41"
    Q (18) = 42"/44"

Instructions given are for full bust. Follow full bust instructions if your fullest bust
measurement is 32"-36" and your cup size is C or larger.

For this pattern, there is a marked difference between the waist and the bust. If your fullest bust and smallest waist measurement differ by less than 6", go up one size on this chart.

Finished length from shoulder (lying flat) is 20-1/2"-21". Instructions given are for long torso (22"-23").

    Finished Measurements for Skirt

    (Sizes are US women's sizes.)

Hip (in inches, at fullest point):
    XS (2/4) = 35"
    S (6/8) = 37"
    M (10/12) = 39"
    L (14/16) = 42"
    Q (18) = 44"

Finished length is 19"-20" (sits at navel and falls 20"-21" below natural waist). Can be lengthened or shortened in 1/2" increments.
