The previously all-white bedroom of designer Shannon Nishida is completely redone in a luxurious Moroccan/Aladdin fantasy style, imaginatively personalized with a real tent and a bed cleverly arranged to give the illusion that it's flying on a magic carpet. An extravagant patchwork of fabric lengths, draped from a ceiling hook and stapled to the walls, becomes a romantic billowy tent. The mix of soft luxuriously colored fabrics -- gold lame, sparkly burgundy and soft-blue stripes -- is tied back at the tent openings with tasseled gold cording (figure A). A low table set with a hookah pipe and a magic lamp is arranged next to a tapestry rug piled with patterned pillows (figure B). The Moroccan fantasy is completed in the other half of the room. The bed, floated in the middle of the room, with a dust ruffle of tapestry-fabric remnants, looks as though it's flying on a magic carpet (figure C). Bold blue on the walls and deep indigo on the ceiling transform the formerly all-white room into a sky-blue paradise, complete with rhinestone stars.
