Make sheer-romance window treatments in no time flat with decorating expert Eileen Boise's creative no-sew techniques. Get instant gratification with these super-simple methods, using extra-wide lengths of sheer fabric, easy-to-install tension rods and coffee-cup hooks as drapery hardware.

Cut a piece of wide sheer fabric double the measurement from the top of the curtain rod to the floor, and drape it over the rod. Leave as is, or use a length of ribbon or a piece of artificial ivy as a tieback, attached to a coffee-cup hook installed at the side of the window (figure A).

For a more contemporary look, loop the front panel of fabric into a big knot ( figure B).

Make bishop's-sleeve drapery panels to hang on either side of a window by layering lace on top of a complementary piece of fabric. Gather the fabric at one end, and hold in place with a rubber band. Tuck the gathered end under, to the back side of the fabric, and attach the rubber band to a coffee-cup hook installed at the top of the window frame. Arrange the fabric panels so the selvages are tucked to the back and out of sight. Bunch and gather the fabric in the middle of the panel with a big ribbon and bow, and attach the bow to a coffee-cup hook installed in the middle of the window frame (figure C).
