    Ingredients:

    Container of your choice
    Floral oasis
    Wooden skewers
    Fresh vegetables
    Greenery
    Floral tape
    Pair of wire cutters

    Preparation:

Tape a piece of oasis in the center of the container. Cut a smaller piece, if necessary, and anchor with wooden skewers, cutting off any excess skewer (figure A). Fill in the oasis with greenery; then add any heavy vegetables (watch the balance of the container as you place the heavy vegetables). Use wooden skewers to attach the vegetables to the foam (figure B) -- you can cut them to make shorter pieces for smaller vegetables. Work one item at a time, using different textures and colors.Once the arrangement is finished, you can always go back and adjust. Store in the refrigerator (if you don't have room in your refrigerator, it can safely sit out overnight).

A simple centerpiece (figure C) can be made from items you may have in your garage or your backyard. You'll need six 4" clay pots. Place the pots side by side in two rows, dab hot glue between each pot and place a bit of moss on the glue (figure D). Glue twigs across the four sides of the pots and add a little raffia (figure E). Place oasis in each pot -- in one corner pot you may wish to place a ball candle. Use asparagus in the middle for height and then just add vegetables. You can glue on a little frog on the corner as a final touch (figure F).

For a child's vegetable garden (figure G), glue moss around the sides of a chunk of oasis, top with brown-sugar "dirt" and add a "fence" of wooden craft sticks around the oasis (figure H). Then add tiny vegetables in rows; top with a small scarecrow and bird and you have a whimsical decoration for your table.

Use your imagination when you're creating centerpieces -- look around your house for containers and ideas. It doesn't take much time or expense to create a charming centerpiece for your table.
