This colorful centerpiece is very easy to make. You will need a plastic foam ring, one package cornhusks, two packages craft pins or hairpins, one box round toothpicks, one dozen each habanero, red and green jalapenos and long red chili peppers, one large vanilla or white candle approximately 6" across, one package natural-color raffia (not cut), one pair rubber gloves and one box T-pins or straight pins. Simply unwrap the cornhusk and wrap around the ring. Tuck edges underneath and secure with pins (figure A). Then take the raffia tail, trim into manageable pieces and fold over into 6" or 8" bunches (you can make them longer to appear fluffy). Secure to the wreath with a pin, then trim to suit your liking (figure B). Put gloves on before handling the peppers. Secure a toothpick into the wreath and place a pepper on the toothpick. Repeat this around the entire wreath. Choose a candle to put in the center and place the wreath on a dinner plate. Note: A great idea for napkins: place one colored napkin inside another and secure with raffia. Now, just glue a pepper to a piece of cornhusk and tuck the cornhusk in the center of the napkin (figure C). This is a fun and easy way to decorate your table.
