Buy tiles and place them on corkboard (you can purchase at any craft store) and draw a line around each so you can cut them out (figure A).
Cut the cork out and then glue the cork to the tiles (figure B). These make great coasters.
To make a great gift basic, line a basket with a kitchen towel. Add 2 mugs and place napkins in them. Add 2 tile coasters and some authentic Mexican chocolate. Tie a ribbon around some cinnamon sticks and add that to the basket and you have a wonderful gift ready to present to your friends, etc. (figure C).
Another basket idea is to back a terra cotta tile with cork and add 4 additional round pieces of cork to make little legs. Line a basket with straw and add the tile, cornhusks that you can get at a Mexican food store, recipe for hot tamales, a bottle of hot sauce and some colorful kitchen linens (figure D).
