    Figure B

Vicki Payne, host of DIY Crafts, explains how to cover a switchplate with fabric.

    Materials:

    Switchplate
    Fabric
    Spray adhesive
    Craft knife

    1. Place a switchplate onto a piece of fabric, and cut around it, leaving 1/2" excess fabric on the ends and 1" excess on the sides to fold to the back of the switchplate (figure A).

    2. Mist the wrong side of the fabric with spray adhesive. Place the right side of the switchplate onto the adhesive side of the fabric.

    3. Fold the edges of the fabric around the switchplate, and stick them to the back (figure B).

    4. Using a craft knife, cut away the fabric from the light-switch hole in the switchplate.
