Crafter Bobbi Connor explains how to make easy bookmarks from comics, construction paper and glitter. Materials:
Construction paper Comics Scissors White glue Clear Con-Tact&$174; paper - Have kids select their favorite comic strip. The strip will determine the size of the bookmark.
- Cut out the comic, or have the kids do it.
- Cut a piece of construction paper the same size as the comic.
- Attach the comic to the construction paper with white glue.
- Cut a piece of clear Con-Tact paper wider and more than twice the width of the comic. Peel away the backing on the Con-Tact paper, and place the comic upside down on top of the Con-Tact paper. Fold the Con-Tact paper over the back of the comic, with the comic sandwiched between the folded Con-Tact paper (figure A).
- Trim away excess Con-Tact paper all around (figure B).
Variation: - Make swirls on construction paper with white glue. Or have kids write their names with glue. Sprinkle glitter over the glue, and let dry. Cut out a rectangular bookmark.
