Bookmarks made from ribbon and buttons serve a useful purpose.

DIY Crafts host Vicki Payne makes easy bookmarks for the books you have beside your bed.

    Materials:
    Ribbon
    Pair of buttons
    Needle and thread
    Pinking shears

    1. Measure a length of ribbon to extend beyond the height of a book. Cut the ends with pinking shears at an angle or in a V shape.

    2. Stitch one button on each end of the ribbon.

    3. Place the ribbon near the spine of the book to mark the page. The buttons prevent the ribbon from slipping through.
