Use a flash outdoors to fill in shadows created by the sun, advises DIY Photography host Rick Sammon. The flash will add contrast to the scene and make your subject look a lot sharper. The flash also brings out the true color of your subject. Some flashes have variable flash output that lets you reduce how much flash you get and gives you more creative control.
