    Even if your furniture is rusted, a little paint can make it look like new again. All you need is naval jelly or a rust remover/primer.

    After you remove loose rust from the furniture, use naval jelly (figure A) to remove stubborn rust. For a little more money, you can use a rust remover/primer (figure B) to convert the rust into paint primer. Most of these products may be sprayed on or applied with a foam brush. Be sure to wear heavy rubber gloves when handling these chemicals.

    Dispose of used naval jelly and other rust removers properly. Never mix new and used rust removers together: a chemical reaction will take place that makes the new material useless.
