With the rush of the holiday season, it's hard to find the time to make gifts. Sandra Betzina, host of HGTV's Sew Perfect, describes a quick and easy homemade gift friends and relatives will love. Materials:
7" by 11" fabric or lace Potpourri Ribbon - Cut lace or fabric in a rectangle 7" by 11".
- With right sides together, make a fold at the bottom, and sew up the sides like a bag. Pink the edges or use an overlock stitch. Turn.
- Fill with potpourri, and tie a ribbon at the top of the bag. Velvet ribbon is a pretty choice for the holidays.
To make an even faster potpourri bag, trace around a dinner plate, and cut a circle. If you use pinking shears, there's no need to finish the edges. Place potpourri in the middle of the circle, and tie up the sides with ribbon. You can put a rubber band around first to hold the fabric in place before tying on the ribbon. For a larger bag, cut 5" larger than a dinner plate.
