    1. Cut an 8-1/2" x 11" piece from the 12" x 12" background sheet. Run sheet through Xyron machine to apply repositionable adhesive to back. Place into feeder section of Wishblade cutter (figure A).

    2. Design your title with software supplied with the Wishblade cutter. After you decide on your exact title, save it on your computer, press "cut" and the cutter takes over from there. The cutter cuts out your own personal title. The "Our Special Angel" title was made using the Persimmon font from Wishblade. Cut title as detailed above.

    3. Pull off the positive letters, saving the background. Lay two strips of Tacky Tape across a piece of silver metallic paper (approximately the same size as title). Peel off protective layer of tape, lay the background that had been cut on to the taped area, and cover this area with clear glass beads. Rip a small strip of peach Mulberry paper the length of the title and attach to the bottom of title. Note: You are using the background of the cut image.

    4. The "Barbara" title was created by cutting out the name with both the Mayflower and Mayflower outline font from Wishblade (figure B). Note where you place type on the page to give you the best effect for later use. These also were cut using sections of the same blanket background paper with repositionable adhesive on back. Paper is then cut with the Wishblade cutter. Place the outline letters (the larger ones) on peach-colored Mulberry paper (figure C).

    5. Peel off the regular letters, place 3-D foam stickers on the back of each letter and center on top of larger letter. When you have spelled out your name, use a glue pen to go lightly around the edges of the letters along top edge. Sprinkle with crystal glitter (figure D). Adhere to page.

    6. The "Lace" piece was created using one of the border shapes from Wishblade. Cut lace shape using the same techniques as mentioned above. Lace cut-out is available in border shape set. After running a piece of card stock through the Xyron machine with repositionable adhesive, turn over and apply two rows of Tacky Tape strips, wide enough to go behind the entire lace cut-out.

    7. Peel lace cut-out from backing and apply to top of Tacky Tape. Sprinkle with craft sand mixture.

    8. Copy photo onto adhesive-backed fabric sheets from Shortcuts.

    9. Attach elements to background paper according to photo.

    Tips:

Save the positive and the negative version of everything you cut! The possibilities are endless. You can use letters by themselves, layer them, use the positive /negative as a stencil with inks/paints, etc.

When laying out your page, before you cut, pay attention to the space around letters. Try to fill up sheet as much as possible. You can make the same title using several different type faces on the same sheet, never knowing which you'll like best and not wanting to waste paper.

You can use pre-made self-adhesive backed paper, plain paper with supplied mat, or the Xyron does a great job at making any paper become a sticker.

The Wishblade personal media cutter comes with 10 font sets available, 24 shape sets, and 3 studio sets are also available, including the 50 states. All sets are packaged on compact "flash" cards.

To make craft glitter: Using colored sand, mix several colors together or reduce the value of a color with white sand; then add glitter. This a lot less expensive than using only glitter and allows you to create endless color combinations. It still has the appearance of glitter.
