Sour Beer PunchPunch up any occasion with a lemon-infused cocktail that will wet anyone's whistle.
Ingredients:3 lemons 1 c. sugar 1 c. water 1/2 c. chilled grapefruit juice 1 can light beer lemon slices and maraschino cherries, for garnish
1. Remove the zest from the lemons (figure A). Remove and discard the white pith. Reserve the peeled lemons. 2. In a saucepan over high heat, combine sugar and water and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Add the zest and remove from the heat (figure B). Cover and let stand for 10 minutes. Remove and discard the zest from the mixture; let the mixture cool to room temperature.
3. Juice the peeled lemons. Strain the lemon juice and grapefruit juice into the sugar mixture (figure C). 4. Pour into a large serving pitcher and chill for at least 2 hours. Just before serving, stir in the beer (figure D). Serve in glass flutes, garnished with lemon slices and cherries (figure E).
