Materials:

fabric store machine print fabric
2 silk screens
1 squeegee
2 silkscreen inks
1 acrylic color
1" foam brush

Hand Painted Fabric

1. Lay fabric on table and tape down with painter's tape.

2. Silk screen first color two to three times in a random fashion and let dry.

3. Silk screen second color two times in random fashion and let dry (figure A).

4. Using foam brush, apply brush strokes in random fashion and let dry.

5. With squeeze bottle, paint squiggle lines of paint in random fashion.

Tips:

• Pick a fabric with a pattern that lends itself to adding even more elements. Sometimes a simple background can be enough to add a base depth to work off of.

• With the designs you are adding, pick different types of materials — that will add more interest and depth to your design.
