    Materials:

    faux fur
    silk lining
2 yds. double satin ribbon (wide)
    sewing machine
    matching thread
    scissors and pins
    measuring tape

    1. Measure around your shoulders and add 2".

    2. To make a pattern, on a piece of wrapping paper draw a rectangle that is 15" wide and as long as the measurement in step 1. Fold the rectangle in half and mark 8" up the 15" open edge. Starting from that point, sketch a gentle curve arching its way up until you meet the long edge, about two-thirds of the way up the fold.

    3. Cut out the pattern shape from both the faux fur and the silk fabric. Pin the two pieces with their right sides together and stitch along the outer edge. Keep a small opening so you can turn the stole right side out.

    4. Time the corners to remove any bulk. Turn the stole right side out and hand-stitch the opening closed. Cut the ribbon in half and hand-stitch each section to the corners of the stole (figure A). Trim the edges of the ribbon to the appropriate length
