    Figure B

    Materials:

3 blocks of polymer clay (2 dark blue, 1 light blue pearlized)
    Plastic clay sculpting tools
    Paper clip
    Aluminum foil

    1. Work the dark blue clay to soften it. Work a half-block of the light blue clay, then work the two colors together -- don't completely work them together, though: some striation will provide texture.

    2. Roll a thick log and cut it in half.

    3. Place a piece of foil under the project for the rest of the steps.

    4. With your fingers and a rounded clay tool, shape the fish, thin out the tail and roll it up slightly.

    5. Unfold the paper clip and use one end to score the scales (figure A), gill, tail and eye.

    6. Place the foil with the fish on a small cookie pan and bake according to the manufacturer's instructions.

    7. Once the clay is baked, place the chopsticks on the sculpted fish (figure B), and you're ready to eat!

    Yield: Makes two small fish.

Products: Clay and clay tools are available at the local craft store.
