All you need for a great-smelling and functional bathroom accessory is an inexpensive basket and a bowl of lavender flowers.

A pretty lavender-covered basket is the perfect container for bathroom necessities.

Beautiful hand-crafted baskets can cost upward of $100 and are well worth the price. But it's fun to dress up inexpensive baskets: all you need is a little money and lots of imagination.

Turn a low-cost picnic basket into a kindling basket to stash next to your fireplace. Add a handle to the basket top to make the kindling easily accessible and a small basket to the side to hold wooden matches or a butane lighter.

A $2 basket covered in lavender flowers and used to hold bathroom accessories looks beautiful and smells great too. Use white glue to attach dryer sheets to a basket. Then brush a layer of glue onto the dryer sheets, and sprinkle the entire surface with lavender flowers.
