Imagination is the key to this fun kids' party game!

Debbie Stapley (host of DIY Crafts) and guest Claire Berger prove that even adults can have fun playing this game.

    Materials (figure A):

Large piece of felt or cloth
    Colored chenille pipe-cleaners
    Colored rolls of crepe-paper streamers
    Colored tissue paper
    Scissors
    Stapler
    Tape
    Tacky glue
Optional: beads, yarn, needle and thread, fabric remnants, feathers and boas

Note: This is a party game, a competition for girls from the age of 10 to 14 who love clothes and fashion design. It's an excellent opportunity to explore the cooperative challenge of the small group process!

    1. Break up the party into teams of five to seven girls. Give each team an identical bag of supplies (see Materials list, above).

    2. Each team designates one girl as the model, and the team has 30 minutes to design an original outfit made exclusively from the bag's contents.

    3. At the end of the time period, a fashion show is staged with another member of the team providing commentary as the model shows off the original design. An impartial team of judges (or a blind ballot process) chooses the winner.

Products: All supplies are available at craft stores.
